Today’s post is written for encouragement to bloggers! Let’s remember all of the many blogging benefits there are and how they impact our lives every time we blog!
Every blogger is at a different stage of their journey. Every blogger has a different reason for blogging. Every blogger has different goals.
But one thing that is common with all bloggers, is that at some point, discontent or discouragement sets in. As with any hobby or job, the interest and excitement ebbs and flows.
So for those days that you’re discouraged or feel that your contribution is minimal, remember these things:
1. Blogging is a creative outlet.
At the heart of it, I see blogging as a creative outlet. Hearing other bloggers’ stories, this seems to be the case as most bloggers begin as a way to express themselves. While blogging can be a great way to provide income, it usually starts on a hobby level.
For those days when you’re discouraged with your low number of page-views or lack of interactive comments on a blog post, remember that it’s a form of a creative outlet. While you may not believe that your message is reaching anyone, you are still able to benefit from creating it.
The very act of writing up your blog post and creating image graphics for your post is therapy! It helps you to do what you love, grow in your craft and relax in what you enjoy doing!
At the heart of it, blogging is a creative outlet. And if you’re able to engage in that creative outlet, you’re the better for it!
2. Blogging is a way to inspire, inform, etc.
I’m amazed at the great audience I have on the internet. I’m amazed at the number of people who choose to read what I write. I’m humbled by it!
My entire reason for beginning to blog was so that I could express my thoughts to anyone who cared to read it. I never imagined I would have the large audience that I do or that I could make any amount of money with my blog. While those are “gravy”, my main reason is still trying to inspire others!
And no matter the number of people who read my thoughts, I’m still inspiring. No matter if my blog is internationally known or featured on tv, I’m still inspiring to someone.
Blogging is an amazing way to inspire, inform, educate, minister to, and excite people! And if I am able to reach just one more person, then it’s worth it!
3, Blogging is a way to make new friends.
I never would have thought this fact to be true because it didn’t seem like an abvious benefit. Blogging seemed more like a “loner” activity that isolated oneself.
I’m happy to say that I was wrong! I’ve met so many bloggers who have helped educate me, inspire me and helped me to succeed. And in turn, I’ve been able to do the same for others!
I’ve found that blogging is a community of people who lift each other up and help each other succeed. Some of the most helpful and loving people I’ve met are bloggers! And that amazes me because they’re not in my “real life” and I haven’t even met them! Yet they’re kind, helpful, thoughtful and so encouraging!
The influence I’ve been able to have in others’ lives would never have come about had I not began blogging. And vice versa! If I can influence one more person for good, encourage one more person in this journey of life, share the love of Jesus with one more person, then I have succeeded!
4. Blogging is a way to become proficient in…
I don’t think non-bloggers have any idea of all of things a blogger must become proficient in, to be successful! (And it’s no matter because they have no reason to know!) I, myself, am amazed at all of the wonderful and complicated concepts and programs I’ve learned!
Blogging is definitely a way to continue growing! In my last 3 years of blogging I’ve learned:
- image graphic design
- social media marketing
- search engine optimization
- html coding
- running giveaways
- literature syntax
Each of those topics alone could comprise an entire college class! There’s just so much to know!
But that’s the beauty of blogging! It throws you into this world of technology and design that most people haven’t entered. And upon entering that world, there’s so much to learn and grow with!
I’ve found that many bloggers have moved beyond blogging and into a specific field of interest (connected to blogging) that caught their eye. And now that field is their entire world=their career!
I believe that one should continue growing in mind. And blogging is a sure-fire way to make that happen! A blogger cannot be successful and not grow!
